I wouldnt put it past Erdogan to have manufactured this to strengthen his own position. it will certainly have a significant impact on the Turkish tourism sector that has already been massively struggling
Erdogan has now sacked over 1000 Judges! I can't quite see how that's linked to a military coup? Don't forget Hitler initially used democracy for his own ends and more people voted for him than any other party in 1933. Erdogan will lead Turkey to more bloodshed, divisiveness and probably a wider civil war than the one he's currently waging on the Kurds.

Not sure what cocktails have to do with it. Erdogan's a grade A authoritarian who's renounced Turkey's secular constitution, sponsored Islamists fighting Assad and has a taste for repression, confrontation with the Kurds and ending the freedom of the press. Of course he has a popularity base, he's made sure that the socially and religiously conservative demographic in the East is on side but in the process he's created a deeply divided nation.
Military coups rarely end well, however.

If you remove the Kurdish people from the opinion polls / electoral results, we note that Turks themselves are very conservative in their views, whether they support Erdogan or some other centre / extreme right or religious based politics.

The fella that Erdogan wants returned from the USA, was one of the main forces in the development of the 'Justice and Development Party' AKP. Best buddies with Erdogan. If I was a cynic, I would ask if Uncle Sam ever learns................(creating a monster doesn't mean you can control him) If you provide funds to create a Political Party in another country (2001)...............don't be surprised when the chosen leader (nutter) turns round and bites you.
