I actually liked Jeff the ref. He seemed to not be overawed by the big clubs when he reffed us. I’m sure it was him who sent off Keane? when we beat Utd 6-3 that day. Compared to P Don, Ellery and Uriah Rennie he seemed to give us a fair crack. On a side note, I’m sure Rennie had his own agent back then, spoke volumes for his inflated opinion of himself.

I think I went to the Riverside for a Boro v Saints game in the 90’s and either a Boro fan or steward told me; it seemed to be fairly common knowledge up there.

To be fair, I suspect he would have had the respect of the players in those days.
