PSV signed the player within 2 days. We fussed about trying to get the wages down etc. How can we expect to sign anyone, when other clubs just "get it done" ?
Before anyone says "don't slag off the club", just displaying a quote from a player. I mean here it is, proof that we fuss around and quibble, ending up in nobody being signed. [Post edited 29 Sep 2020 15:36]

The FA refused him a work permit is what happened - not much player or club could do & was source of RH frustration when he said ‘missed out’ last week [Post edited 29 Sep 2020 15:57]

Why would a player be refused a work permit? Whatever the reason, whilst Villa spend for fun, Brighton spend for fun, Spurs get Bale, Everton get Rodriguez, Newcastle get Wilson, Palace get Eze and so on, it just seems so frustratingly hard for Saints in particular, to get any players in. Coming from a second division side like Toulouse and not enough international caps.
Club must have anticipated this event ?
Clearly the club are playing the long game and hoping to grab a bargain as the transfer door starts to close. Risky game as we need nailed on players and not anything less after £80M spunked up the wall. [Post edited 29 Sep 2020 17:08]

And why would the player himself say it was Saints being slow. He didn't need to say that. He could have said anything to appease PSV, such as he just couldn't turn them down. And a work permit is very rarely refused, unless for criminal reasons etc. We all know the real reason he didn't sign. | |
