its true, the whole narrative around the support for the Police has been disgraceful lately.
only a couple of months ago, a policewoman was put in hospital and it was all brushed off as "largely peaceful" issues.

The violence on our streets (plus the total disregard for the Covid rules) by some is disgusting. But I'm afraid (and surprised) that Boris is being far too soft on this and weak. The police should be empowered to do their job. Boris should be backing them up with stop and search, introducing a curfew and powers to water cannon and disperse. It's all so soft, that crime is on the rise and innocent people are getting killed.

I would like to see more robust support from Boris. The Conservatives have traditionally been tough on on crime. But from what I can see, is people flouting the Covid rules and police being killed all over the country. Criminals are looking at this thinking "this is easy". And I agree, they spend time bending the knee, only for one white man to be dragged from the back of a car to his death, and another white man shot in a police station, by a gang member from Croydon. Because we have a black lives matter campaign going on, suggesting that the police are killing black people. What about when it's the other way around. Why did I mention colour? Because its mentioned every day. There we go, division causes division.
I agree, all lives matter, black or white. So why have a protest just for black deaths? White people get innocently and brutally killed too. The BLM campaign, urging the defunding of the police and saying all police are racist, is resulting in many officers being killed. [Post edited 26 Sep 2020 14:12]
