Would you know my name? on 15:09 - Jan 24 by ted_hendrix
Hopefully managed to post the video, coming from a broken home as I did this song and it's lyrics I can relate to. I Loved John Lennon, his lyrics and his voice and this song is so poignant he sings it so emotionally.

He was really missing his wife.
That was my first choice as well Metallica, not sure why my link didn't work.
He wasn't a well man at the time he recorded the video, and this was a really prophetic song choice. Both he and his wife (who appears in the video briefly) died within a year of it being released.
Amazing how he just completely changed the context of a song written by Trent Reznor and turned it into something so haunting, compelling and sad.
Never knowingly understood

Ah yeah I see your post, I scrolled video titles to make sure so didn't see that.
Are you copying a link of a link rather than a direct URL? I do that sometimes on a mobile and the vid doesnt autoload.
He does a mean soundgarden too.

Long Long Long by The Beatles always made me very sad. But more the music
Chelsea Hotel #2 by Leonard Cohen - "That's all, I don't even think of you that often"
The River by Bruce was always pretty sad, but learning in his book it was inspired by his sister is pretty gutting - "Is a dream a lie that don't come true?/Or is it something worse?"
Lord I'm Discouraged by The Hold Steady is pretty rough
The first two are instrumental, if you know the first one, I will be utterly amazed, the band is very obscure. The second one is an extremely well known classical piece. As we had better have something with some actual lyrics, here is something off the wall but moving.
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

A few weeks before his disappearance in 1995, Richey Edwards from the Manic Street Preachers gave his bandmates a folder full of lyrics.
Most of those lyrics remained unused until 2009 when the remaining bandmembers made the album Journal For Plague Lovers. This is the last song on the album.
