and that Saint 22 is our problem isn't it. Opposition teams get an odd chance and make it count. We seem to need countless chances to get a goal, though the commentator says that for all our possession (and putting aside the penalty claim) the Villa keeper has not really had to make a save.

12 shots and just a Redmond blocked shot and a Cash tip round the post as efforts on target.

All the play and chances but severely lacking in the final third when it comes to creating and that killer pass.

Looks like we have Diallo and possibly Walcott out injured now - just when we have to get something from tonight to set us up for a trip to Old Trafford !!

You can’t fault the effort but the final ball and finishing is lacking.

bar the penalty incident, you really wouldnt know Ings is out there. Is he not fit, not interested and wants a move?

No idea but since all this talk he has not seemed the same player. Ralph must be as frustrated as hell. Injuries are one thing to cope with, but he has a defender who was purchased to help correct what had been an achilles heel and he is not remotely available for whatever reason and a player who seemed to be an answer to our scoring problems who is restless and possibly starting to effect the team morale.

It’s all a bit predictable and considering only Jannik is missing now it’s a little worrying
Need two wins ASAP

He wants a move. He hasn't signed his contract so he will just see out time. He won't want to get injured before his big move. Those who think he will give his all, might stay keeping his options open are just naive. He hasn't been any worse than the others tonight though and still worth having on the pitch. It's been a dreadful game, slow and ponderous. Without Ings at his best, we struggle.

So much better with Adams on the pitch, think Ralph got it wrong tonight but the refs still a cheating c£nt

Poll: Who is the biggest c*nt?

I don't agree with the criticism of the team. We were unlucky and but for 2 bad refereeing decisions, we should have deservedly won 2-1 against a good Villa side. The criticism directed at Ings is ridiculous. He played his heart, set up a couple of great chances for Adams and scored a goal, which was not offside. The freeze frame shows they drew the line a fraction of a second after the ball had left the boot. At worst, Ings was in line.

Of course, the team has lost a bit of confidence because luck has gone against them. I don't think I've seen a clearer handball in the penalty area all season. So, Ings could have had 2 goals tonight and his confidence would have been sky high again.

The combination of Mason and Dean is the worst we can get. Even the linesman was diabolical and got just about everything wrong, which is why Ward-Prowse was so angry. It must be incredibly frustrating when you try so hard only to be thwarted by the officials at every turn. The team did well to stick at it, in spite of that. Surely, we'll get a better team of officials than that shower tonight and get the result we deserve.

Valery should of started at RB and told in no certain terms to watch the diver.
JWP never got forward when he played there so we may as well of had Valery playing.

Adams also should of started instead of Redmond or Walcott.
He improved the team shape when he came on as did JWP moving back to his natural positions.
Why was JWP not taking the corners in the first half?

VAR cannot take the blame for an unmarked player again scoring in our area or the fact we had 20 shots but only 5 on target.

Round pegs in square holes don’t go Hassenhuttl!!

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.

To be fair to Ralph, JWP has had some good games at RB in the past where we’ve had a result, including against Grealish last season where he marked him out of the game.

So I can see why he did it, especially as Valery has looked crap

I don’t think we will miss Walcott if Redmond and Armstrong are on each flank and Adam’s and ings can find their groove again
It feels to me we were going along nicely but all the disruption has nit helped the “team” that was playing well plus vestergaard back soon!

We had a good run with a pretty settled first team and showed what Ralph and our best players could achieve.

The combination of the general disruption to the first team and, with the exception of Diallo, the players coming in not really being good enough, has meant we've lost 3 Prem games on the bounce.

I think it's always going to be like this until we get a new owner who can offer us some 'sustainable investment' in the team.

And the danger is that Ralph and the better players will be dazzled by what they can do when we're at our best and look to move somewhere that can put out a quality team whatever the circumstances.

Poll: Should we try to replace Selles for the final seven games?
