Down to the bare bones it seems. Just send in a few positive tests and get Brentford called off until we get everyone fit again or can delve into the market before the window shuts. It’s the way new super rich clubs do it.

The Tino injury does not sound good and looks like he could be out the rest of this season. Ralph sounds like he is expecting the worst.

It's been noted that he has not been at his best and looked tired for around a month. He should have been rested, this could have been avoided.

If it was down to the kick he got on his knee recently, then no it couldn’t have been avoided as these things happen all the time. If it was down to him being overplayed or carrying an injury then yes, it could have been avoided. Given the quality of medical teams that are employed by EPL clubs I would imagine the former is probably right.

If he didn’t play at all he wouldn’t have been kicked. What do we do? Sign quality players and wrap them in cotton wool?
Anyway, some good news. He has done some light training so maybe no surgery needed.

RH quoted the following regarding Tino.....

“We are looking from day to day, the first steps in training now have shown no reaction from the knee which is good, there’s no new fluid and that gives us a little bit of hope. He’s still not in team training so we will have a look from day to day.

You don't overload young ones, I don't recall saying ont play them. He was appearing jaded, the premiership today is a big step up in intensity. Players need protection from burn out

Fine, but don’t you think that the medical team and the management team know what they are doing. You made the point that if he had been rested then he wouldn’t have been kicked, but he gets kicked in every game so what difference would that make? The welfare players get now is better than it has ever been. With all due respect, he is better off listening to the medical team and his manager than people on an Internet forum.

If it is a meniscus injury as reported, then a kick is not likely to have been the cause. more likely a twist which could have been simply unfortunate or perhaps the product of tired legs.

Either way, such injuries rarely heal completely without surgery, instead the tear (if that is what it is), smooths down and the joint works but is now forever compromised, making future injury more likely.

He needs to be rested and his injury as fully healed as possible before being risked again.

Yes we would like him to play in the next few games, but I'd prefer he was fit enough to play for the next few seasons and would happily wait a few games for that to happen, even the rest of this season.
