| Saints V Brentford Matchday Thread on 11:41 - Jan 12 with 298 views | Berber | A great evening, especially as I had my Brentford supporting cousin and her husband as guests. Enjoyable as it was, Brentford were truly dreadful for a 20 minute period in the second half, when they seemed to have given up, and we scored two breakaway goals and enjoyed an "Ole" passing sequence. My cousin's assessment on their performance was that it is an increasing pattern with their away performances, and they only seem to be lifting themselves against the top sides at present. Their defence was slow and square, which suited us very well. Toney and Mbuemo completely out of sorts. Brentford were definitely Championship standard last night. Given how dodgy we have been defensively on our right flank, I was a bit surprised that their preference was to attack Perraud rather than Tella. Having said that, it was great to see Tella playing so well at FB, but not so great to see Redmond so horrendously wasteful. I though Diallo had his best game for us, and the characters of Lyanco and Perraud shone through, as well as their performances. | |
