It's going to be a terrible and really nasty storm, apparently. Advice is not to travel in the morning. Anyone travelling to work tomorrow morning?

Poll: Would you like Ings to come back?

Every time there's a bad storm - people die. That's just a fact of life. That's what storms do.

Is The Sun still going even? I stopped reading it after Page 3 ceased.

Page 3 is still there, it stops the ink on page 2 messing up page 5.

Just a lack of perky nipples

Well, I say let's get out there and tw@t it!

No, just the first fatality due to the storm. Still, it’s nothing to worry about apparently. Perhaps you will catch it if The Sun report it?

1 person out of 65 million has died. I demand Boris immediately evokes martial law to keep us all safe…..from a bit of wind

A bit of wind? I guess you wouldn’t have been bothered if that”bit of wind” had killed a loved one? Not seen the news tonight then? I think you will find that it was a bit more than a bit of wind. Christ, only on a football forum will you find people using the weather to have a dig at someone.

At least 5 people a day wake up leave their home and never return due to road related deaths Sogs...thats sad in any context ..1 person has sadly died due to the storm you have over there..I'm sure given the multitude of warnings given over the past few days that death could of been avoidable...but nevertheless it is still a sad ocurence.

British media is embarrassing mate, constant cycles of fear and misinformation...Putin is pushing buttons to gauge the cohesion of Europe and Nato...he's dying and wants to go out with a bang..there's more chance of Oligarchs arranging his untimely death than Nato scaring him off with Sanctions...

So no problems about people dying. I’d rather be over dramatic than a callous a hole. Have a good evening.

1 person in a population 68 million. It’s sad, but people die….approx 1700 each day in the UK ffs.

Get a grip and stop being such a hysterical, attention seeking tart.

Scared of Covid, scared of the wind, I think I'm getting the gist of you Sogs me old mate.

I wholly disapprove of what you say and will defend to the death your right to say it.

That doesn’t mean that if we mention it we are overdramatising the situation. This has been described as the worse storm for 30 years so perhaps it is worth mentioning on the news and not pretending that it is “just a bit of wind”.

What a load of nonsense. We live on an island battered by the North and Atlantic Seas. We get storms. Sadly people will very occasionally lose their lives and property will be damaged. This is media driven drivel. More people are hurt in gardening accidents ffs. It was windy. It’s February. Everyone should grow a pair and have a look at the way weather really impacts on people around the world. It’s embarrassing.

Yes we get storms. Fortunately storms of this magnitude don’t happen that frequently. The latest was the worse one for 30 years. It has left at least 4 people dead and done untold damage. This was the first time Kent has had a red weather warning, which was well founded and not “over dramatised”. The media report on unusual and large events. This storm was the biggest since the Great storm of 1987 so it would be very strange if the media ignored it. To write it off as a “bit of wind” shows a complete lack of perspective. One of the chimneys from the Isle of Grain power station collapsed. Part of the roof from our local shopping mall collapsed. The local news apps are full of pictures of collapsed buildings. The number of trees down across roads is the highest in decades. Fortunately many people heeded the warning to stay at home otherwise the death toll could have been much higher. To some it might not have been a big deal, but it was a big deal and would have been very strange for the media to ignore it as a “bit of wind” that has been “over dramatised”.

Is the forum agreed that we are not allowed to mention the storm as it makes us softies? I’ll make sure I keep quiet about it.

In the end, it was quite a strong storm. We had some really strong winds from about 11 to mid afternoon. It was enough to bring down some fences, so had to order some more. Few panes of glass blown out from the green house. Luckily though, still alive and well and off to St Mary's in a little while
