What’s that picture proving?

How do you that frame is at the moment the ball is being played?

You are literally the only person that thinks it’s off side

After the recent refereeing debacle in boxing, Frank Warren has said he won’t be using British referees for his next big fight ( and who could blame him.) what a pity that the FA and PL seem not to be able to prevent two highly paid refs, with the aid of instant Slomo replay technology, making a complete pigs ear of something that several million people could see on first viewing at full speed.

Ain’t just British/English refs though, as it’s just as bad (or at least in the footballing world) in other leagues

Apparently Mike Riley has now apologised to Everton and accepts that it was an error. It’s a start but it doesn’t help. VAR was supposed to stop things like this happening yet still there are mistakes. I am not anti VAR, but it is appalling that they are still not getting the calls right.

Beat me to it. So not offside and a penalty

That handball was one of those that should not need VAR, it was that obvious.
But ok, give the ref the benefit of the doubt, he may not have seen it (hence why we have VAR). It should have taken less than 10 seconds to come to the decision it was a penalty

Putting my biased hat back on, I am glad it was not as Everton lost

We are not pathetic enough to consider writing to the FA or Refereeing bodies about such incidents. Every team can look to incidents like this throughout the season, so you just have to get on with it.

Just shows how much added pressure there is on Lampard, but at the end of the day, what do they get out of it ? Nothing apart from an excuse if they go down by a point - not that the penalty would have guaranteed them a goal or a point anyway !!

Where were our apologies for numerous handballs, penalties etc not given to us and where was the apology for sending Bednarek off at Old Trafford last season when Martial dived, despite it being VAR'd, screen looked at and then rescinded after the game - we probably wouldn't have conceded those extra 3 goals (to make it another 9-0) with 10 men on the pitch instead of 9 !! :-)

Now if they can please issue a general apology for the complete clusterf*ck that VAR has been, that would be nice.

Do you remember the World Cup in 2018 when VAR was first introduced. It was brilliant and everyone was looking forward to it being introduced to the PL. Obviously not taking into account the amount of fan boys there are to the so called big Six. It’s becoming more and more blatant. Incompetence or just down right favouritism?

I think we did though. Didn't we write to the FA asking that some ref (possibly Mike Dean) didn't ref our matches anymore?

If we did, then it wouldn't have been over a single incident, but more for numerous poor decisions against us over a period of matches.

Everton wanted an apology for a single decision - the type of decision that goes against every team, many times throughout a season.

Even if the penalty was given, there was no guarantee that it would have been scored, or if it had been scored, that City wouldn't have gone on to win the game anyway, what with about 5 mins plus injury time still to play.

Desperate stuff indeed and nothing to gain from it other than an excuse that they could have had a chance to perhaps potentially rescue a possible point.

Yes, the officials fvcked up, but why feel the need to write in, when these sort of decisions happen quite regularly ?
