Seriously though, wasn't it was just down to the length of contract that was on the table from Wigan ? He wanted guaranteed income for a longer period than Pompey were prepared to offer, as he was getting married.

It is somewhat tragic that Portsmouth go to all this effort to produce what Monsieur Cent Trente regularly advises is a thoroughbred Academy, producing top-notch players with great consistency, for it all to go to waste when their effective parent club Wigan just cream off all the talent.
