If you have to get away from Portsmouth and choose to re-locate to Wigan, I would suggest that’s a bit like moving from Kabul to Mariupol. That’s as much of a compliment as I am prepared to pay Portsmouth.

It wasn't because of all his defensive fvck ups and own goals then ? :-) Seriously though, wasn't it was just down to the length of contract that was on the table from Wigan ? He wanted guaranteed income for a longer period than Pompey were prepared to offer, as he was getting married. So the Gosport guy who's been a skate all his career, suddenly ups and moves to Wigan of all places and wins the league !! :-)

It is somewhat tragic that Portsmouth go to all this effort to produce what Monsieur Cent Trente regularly advises is a thoroughbred Academy, producing top-notch players with great consistency, for it all to go to waste when their effective parent club Wigan just cream off all the talent. Wasn’t Jack Whatmough rivalling Wesley Hoedt in the own goal stakes at one point, and also utterly rinsed in that 7-0 Youth Cup demolition at St. Mary’s?

Which two players you thinking of? Tom naylor your captain at the time, Whatmough the local lad who couldn’t wait to join a bigger club up north, Lowe your star striker. Also looks like they are taking your current fullback Johnson. Not forgetting your best manager In years as well. No you definitely are not wigans feeder club lol lol lol

And the “old coach”, who I would presume is the current manager. I do wonder if Monsieur Cent Trente has ever been to Wigan. It’s a pretty grim place. He would fit right in.

Whatmough was particularly risky on the injury front, so the club didn't take a punt on him. of course, you would know all the details
