No...I stated on here 3 months before he left (reluctantly) that he will leave this summer..he didn't want to..he didn't want to leave the club..he was committed as always since his arrival....
He eventually left after it was clear that Ralph wasn't being sacked..
I was told of his complete dismay of how Ralph was destroying the dressing room week in week out by someone that has been a family friend for decades but is well informed.
If you seriously think he left to play games near to his birthplace...you are seriously way off the mark | |

Maybe that's all it is but it also might be that he turned 23 this summer and has matured into a decent striker. I guess we'll find out when he returns from his loan spell. Footballers mature at different rates and there is the odd exception, like Rooney and Haaland, but not many youngsters score a lot of goals in the Premier League. Ings was never a saints fan but Smallbone is a life long saints fan. With a better manager when he’s back next season he’ll start to make an impact | |
