£12 million a year 08:41 - Sep 18 with 3050 viewsraynor94

The estimated cost of adding another 36 snouts to the trough at the assembly.

Drakeford backed by Plaid ushering this through, at least the Tories opposed this on cost grounds

Do you realise that the number of Westminster MPs in Wales are being cut from 40 to 32. A more sensible approach.

Liz Truss's disastrous mini-budget cost the country a staggering £30bn.

Where is Lady Mone with our PPE money ?
Who is lady Owen ?
Where is Johnsons phone ?
Why is Wales paying for HS2 when its all in England ?
Why did the english tories lie about brexit for Wales ?

Much of Wales used to benefit from EU structural funds - worth an average of £375m a year - because of how relatively poor the country's economy was.

The UK government's replacement - the Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF) - began in 2022 and is due to run until 2025 in its first round.
A total of £89m was allocated in the first year, with £153m in the second year and £343m in the final year.

I've told you before, just because the Westminster government is useless, it doesn't mean we should accept the Welsh government being just as useless.

If they say it'll cost 12 million you can bet it's at least double that.

Now that 375 million EU money, ho much has he Senedd wasted this year...

150+12+.....The final figure when it's all added up could be staggering in Welsh terms.

Absolutely this.... its all whataboutery, but but but Westminster. We all agree Westminster is corrupt and pretty rubbish, this does not and I repeat does not mean the Senedd has to be the same.

I agree with that.

We need balance.

The £12 million a year figure stated lacked that essential balance.

Its disgusting and an insult to people who are struggling, what are those 36 gonna do, they need to fully justify the reason, they won't though

The Tories would oppose anything Labour and Plaid whatever they did, so don't kid yourself otherwise.

The Tories would do exactly the same if they were in power here if they felt they could.

The cost of Truss’s budget varies significantly depending on who you want to believe, however it’s clear her budget has had a long term impact on interest rates, she also tanked the pound which had knock on effects on things like commodities which are priced in dollars.
Bloomberg reported that £300bn were wiped off the value of the stock market and bond market in the month after the mini budget.

The biggest impact on interest rates is inflation and the biggest impact on inflation is fuel and food costs. Although both could be priced in dollars, neither in the main are a result of the budget. There were more significant reasons.
