What a woeful collection of names on the short list.

Cricketer Stuart Broad, jockey Frankie Dettori, footballer Mary Earps, wheelchair tennis player Alfie Hewett, athlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson and golfer Rory McIlroy are the nominees.

Clearly been a bad year for British sport.

Are people still getting confused on the title? Personality is just being used as another word for 'person' in this context. It doesn't mean they have to actually be entertaining. Greg Rudeski won it one year ffs...

I'd never heard of Alfie Hewitt but a quick online search reveals that he is Britain's best wheelchair tennis player.

So, who is Britain's best blind sportsperson? Surely, he/she should also be on the shortlist, especially if it's a rifle marksman or a goalkeeper.

If you want a blind (sight impaired) sportsman, I can think of few saints keepers who might qualify?

Stuart broad didn’t have a great year . They should have harry brooks from cricket he had an incredible year.

Why no man city footballers after their record year?
