Let's get behind our new interim manager. He's done a tremendous job with the U21s, and significantly improved players. Their win at Tottenham on Saturday took them up to 4th in Premier League 2. He was also a first team coach at Barnsley when they made the Championship play-offs in 2021.

I'm expecting him to have a positive impact on our first team now.

Just shows what a total fück up the appointment of Will Still was.

Will Still is a terrible manager. Just look.at how brilliantly we played today. We have really good players who downed tools for Still.

That first half!!!! Suddenly we're moving the ball 'forward' at pace AND with intelligent, incisive passing, with everyone running into space.
That a major turnround. Jack Stephens moving the ball up the pitch, it's looking really good.
The second half calmed down, but you'd expect that when you're 1- 5 up.

Absolutely. I always knew that there was a good side in there. You only had to listen/watch Still's surly interviews to understand why there was no motivation or incentive for the players.
Stephens still standing watching for Charlton's goal though....

If Tonda hadn't been offered the job full time before this game started then there's no doubt that he's got it now.
He could not have done more in the 3 games he's coached the team.

He has done a great job and yesterday wa snore of a test than the first two games so he deserves the job I would think now, that said Tuesday night will be his toughest test yet so let’s see how he sets the team up and deals with a much stronger Leicester team

Having just watched his pre match interview.
Spent his Saturday evening celebrating by watching videos of Leicester City.
We can expect a totally different match on Tuesday, he inferred.
Have to say he conducts himself very well, answers direct questions directly.
Like the cut of his jib.

Fabrizio Romano reckons "“There are internal discussions about this at the club and he has chances, as he’s doing a very good job.”

Beat Leicester tomorrow and I say give him the job!

It's a good problem to have but it's tricky...

He's done really really well in these 5 games - brilliantly on Saturday - but it's only three games and maybe Still was just so awful that pretty much anyone would have achieved a turnaround in these three games?? (But 5-0 up in the first half is pretty special).

But that's a big call to drop a guy that's doing so well - particularly given the risk that the next replacement will be another Jones or Still.

Then there's the fact that if drops back to the U21s, on the one hand the Club will have a great interim manager all ready to go, if another permanent appointment fails. But on the other, the 'bring back Tonda' chants will come quickly if someone else comes in and has a rocky start.

And then there's the fact that everyone else looking for a new manager can also see the results he's had.

I think we have to stick with him and I have high hopes that he will turn out to be a real winner.

I guess he'll be happy to keep going in interim charge for now, but at some point his agent will be asking questions about money and contracts.

But well done Tonda for bringing a bit of light back to St Mary's.

(It's also interesting how the signings of Jander, Fellows and Azaz are all now looking good ones (alongside Scienza). Tonda is shining a good light on Spors too.)

Poll: Would you welcome Oriol Romeu back?
