On the face of it, it's really quite bizarre that a player we paid less than £500k for ten years ago and who has played more than 300 games for the club since in the top two divisions of the English pyramid should be held in such disdain by a certain section of our support.

Really does defy all logic how some players become hate figures for the simple of thought through no fault of their own.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

As I said a couple of months ago when some were saying to offload, do not be surprised if he signs a new contract.

He'll have to take a pay cut but yeah, he's got another year or two in him. Especially if he's sparingly used.

Doesn’t go out slurping vodka all summer, nobody really knows much about him, never been a favourite of mine, but total respect for him. I’m thinking he will get a contract at the end of this season. Not dissimilar to Joe’s and Kyle Naughton. Low money, can be relied upon. A very professional trainer, timely and a figure who will have great influence on younger players.

Dependent on his communication skills he could be valuable.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

He is a solid performer at Championship level. A splendid fellow too boot and reportedly a popular o member of the squad.

He however represents the decline of Swansea way. He does not have the fast feet required for the type of football Swansea fans had 12 years ago. I feel sure Michael Laudrup or Martinez would have moved him on very quickly.

He will help keep Swansea in the Championship if that is the target. On over £500k a year he will be moved on. A great servant to the club having said all that .I respect him.

Wise sage since Toshack era

There's certainly a place for him in that "senior pro" role that Naughton used to fill. Can slot in to start and won't let us down when needed, won't kick up a fuss if on the bench.

Some won't sleep tonight and to think Ronald assisted it. They may need counselling.

It would be good to see people recognise that Key also did well today until his injury.
