| Sunny Stoke tips 13:44 - Jan 16 with 1378 views | Woog | Hi folks Though I travel down to the away games in the NW, NE & Yorkshire, Stoke is not one of my usual haunts. Any top tips on parking and/or away-friendly pubs? (Thanks a lot in advance) | | | | |

| Fulham FC: It's the taking part that counts |

Sorry, but I can't remember the name of the club. We did have to pay for a years associate membership of the club (to fulfil licencing regulations) for an extortunate fee of (from memory) £1! Trad Ales were about £3.50 per pint & I don't think lagers were much more. I hope you enjoy the day as much as I did that day! [Post edited 16 Jan 17:36]

Cheers for that. I think it might be the Fenton Bowling Club in Heron Cross, about 15 mins walk from the ground. That's the place I was going to use, unless told different.

That looks like the name! Good luck in doing the walk in 15 minutes though, especially the return as it's all uphill. The only downside to parking there were the number of Stokies playing "hunt the Rangers fans" after crossing the A50. Presumably, that would have applied wherever we'd parked!

I tag along with my Stokie mates and get a coach from The Museum to the ground…prob easier to go The Glebe at back of station and there are shuttle buses to ground from there

My brother wouldn’t walk back to the station last season after the game so we caught one of the buses. The driver said that it was going that way so we had a seat upstairs. I think the bus dropped us off further away from the station then where we were.He wasn’t a happy bunny having to walk further and quicker so that we could make our trains home. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Never tried the oatcakes they sell from the little barge on the way but it’s rather quaint for Stoke. I’d probably park near the station and get the shuttle bus out of there but you’re on the way now.

I stopped off at the barge for the uncle Albert game two seasons ago.I had a bacon and egg stories and a cold can in pleasant surroundings.Very nice. And a good walk back to the station with some Danish Stoke fans. One of my better away days, and certainly better than last season.Although the song to the fat Stoke fans about diabetes coming for him was the highlight.
