Clear shirt pull by Thomason on Kone - right in front of the ref, who was clearly incompetent or corrupt (or I guess both) on the day. Kolli also culpable for getting nowhere near Windass.

Ref was a bizarre tombola all day but the goalkeeper catches that, falls to the ground and whacks it down the pitch. Feel for Walsh as he was having a good game and hasn’t done a lot wrong in the three games but he was appalling for both the second and third goals. How does he not parry that out nowhere near the middle of the goal from 30 yards? Was Begovicesque and can only imagine he was still beating himself up about the equaliser. |  | | |

Exactly this. The technique displayed by Windass to pivot, whilst slightly off the ground, and keep his foot over the ball to ensure such a perfect connection was of the highest order. Fail to understand why he didn't start. [Post edited 24 Jan 20:12]

The point is, it was a clear foul, it impeded Kone, who might have got a block on the shot otherwise. Likewise, if the sluggish/unaware Kolli had marked Windass properly, he wouldn't have been in a position to get a shot away of any quality. With the ref's help, we made it easier for him on both counts, and that's the perspective the coach needs to look at it from every time - what we could have done better.
Otherwise, fine, we can all just sit back and admire their goalscorer. | |

Ifs, buts and maybes. If Walsh had got a better connection on the punch then the ball doesn't fall to Windass. If MBengue doesn't go charging in like a lunatic when already on a yellow card, then we see out the game comfortably. The ref wasn't the issue today. [Post edited 24 Jan 20:38]

The ref was inconsistent though Benny. Smyth being pulled, kicked and pushed all game long by Kabore - once again how many times does a ref have to talk to a player to realise he needs to stop it with a booking. Smyth does one reckless tackle and he’s booked. More ifs buts and maybes.

Walsh was definitely fouled for the second goal. As the corner came across Moore facing the opposite direction to Walsh bent forward as if to protect himself and shoved his not so small arsé into the back of Walsh as he went to punch the ball, hence the poor clearance. It was very clever by Moore but none the less it was a blatant foul and the ref who once again seemed to have his moods of good and very poor either missed it or decided that he couldn’t be bothered to blow. Yet near enough every corner we had he was being very picky especially with their right wing back who time and again commuted fouls as has been said before. | |

Hmmm I'll need to have another look but if that was the case then fairly clever really if he got away with that. I just thought Walsh didn't deal with the ball properly.
Then again for our second goal Kone seemed to be clinging on to two Wrexham players, hence why Cook was totally unmarked to score.
