[emailed to Bondholders]

Dear Bondholder,

It gives me great pleasure to be writing at a time of significant excitement for everyone associated with our Academy as we plan the steps towards the next stage of our strategy.

TSG Phase 2 → Category 1 Application
For many seasons we have relied on training facilities that are split across multiple venues, with space and availability often restricted. Delivery of the phase 2 infrastructure developments at TSG Elite Training & Performance Centre will bring all our programmes onto the same site for the first time in our Club’s history.

Our development plans include installing a flood-lit full-size artificial pitch, constructing an indoor artificial pitch, and creating a purpose-built spectator hub, all designed to complement our integrated training centre and Desso GrassMaster pitches. Together, these facilities will position the Academy to meet the infrastructure criteria for Category 1 status, with an application due for submission this year.

To facilitate the funding of these development plans, the Club recently offered all Bondholders the option to roll over their 2021 bond investment. We are pleased that a significant number of bondholders rolled over approximately £4.2m, for which we are extremely grateful for.

Securing Category 1 status will enable our players to participate in the top tier of national competitions - such as Premier League 2, Papa John’s Trophy, and the U15 Premier League Floodlit Cup - while significantly enhancing our ability to recruit and retain elite players and staff.

These facilities will primarily be used by the Pre-Academy (U7-U8) and Schoolboys (U9-16) from the Boys' Academy, as well as our U10-U16 Girls' age groups. Having full control over these facilities i.e. not being dependent on third party owned facilities, will significantly enhance the delivery of our technical and on-pitch performance programmes across our pathways. Our players will be exposed to realistic training spaces to best prepare them for the demands of the senior game. We will be able to host training and games consistently without any unnecessary postponements, and we will maximise development time on the pitch by removing the time taken to travel to other sites.

Loan Rangers
During previous updates I have spoken about the importance of our loans programme to provide our senior Academy players with vital experience to support their potential transition to our First Team. This season we have continued to take positive strides forward with the number and quality of the loans being facilitated.

Notably Emmerson Sutton has become our youngest player in over a decade to secure a loan to the EFL following his temporary move to Harrogate Town. We are delighted that he has become a regular starter and that his first goal for Harrogate Town against Cambridge United contributed to their first league victory in 21 games. Elsewhere Timmy Akindileni is gaining significant exposure at 18 years of age in the highly competitive National League with Morecambe FC. These experiences will undoubtedly support our players’ aspirations to return in contention for our First Team pre-season squad.

Thank You
On behalf of everyone at the Academy, I would like to thank you again for your continued support of our Club.

We appreciate that these exciting developments wouldn’t be possible without your commitment and we remain extremely grateful.

Best wishes,
Alex Carroll

Can we not knock it?

I wonder what contingencies are in place for the costs of running these facilities though if the first team dips out of the top two tiers of football.

Obviously no-one knows for sure, but there's lots of rumour and conjecture up here in Leicestershire that activity at LCFC's swanky new Cat 1 facility will have to be massively wound down if they end up going to League One because its costing £15m+ per year to run.

Bizarrely, they still have ownership of and are using the old training ground in the city too, which feels a bit unnecessary, and whether thats part of that £15m who knows...

Good point.

And you know full well that when QPR draw the QPR Academy away in the Papa John's trophy we'll beat us 1-0.

Its an aim to achieve cat 1 status and an admirable goal also, but the proof of the pudding, will only truly be visible when or if we develop youth prospects into first team professionals that then become sellable assets.

Not our greatest skill, in the past decade, but there has been a few.

Once, this strategy is complete, world domination will be the ultimate and inevitable destination !!!

Unfortunately, the recipient of the inaugural FIFA Peace Prize is determined to be the inaugural winner of the FIFA War Prize, solely to thwart our ambitions.

World domination, like comedy, is all down to timing!

Much is a repeat of what was issued on official Web site a while ago.
I get the benefits, provided they can be delivered. My concern is that a move to Cat 1 will add Co siderably extra costs, on a monthly basis, due to additional staffing. If so, is that an affordable cost?
It will take years to deliver a conveyor belt of first team players.

I dont think the dev side of the club comes into the FFP spending etc per season so yes would be huge addtional costs but dosnt come out of what the club can spend or not spend per season ,

I agree about the costs, but it seems Rueben is content with spending his money on the club.
How else could it be explained that the likes of Nourry and Williams have such vital roles in running this club with so very little experience of football?

If Rueben was concerned surely he would approach people like Wenger, Ferguson Ancelotti etc for advice on suitable people for these jobs.

No, we'll be 16th in the Championship getting knocked out of the League and FA Cups at the first round stage whilst bemoaning the fact that we have the 18th lowest wage bill in the league...

Can we go out yet?
