| Qatari gas and supply interruptions. 17:14 - Mar 3 with 621 views | ReslovenSwan1 | I was under the impression that most LNG that comes into UK (much of it to Milford Haven) was from Qatari. This is not correct as only about 6% of UK usage is from Qatar. Stocks are at about 30% which is low and the suppliers suggest lower stocks means lower prices. Most UK LNG come from USA. UK used very little Russian natural gas which is why pre 2022 European had cheaper fuel. Price of LNG have soared in recent days. It is therefore good planing that the UK is investing in solar and wind power. Right winger here and in he USA ( with links to "big oil") detest green energy. Milliband and co need to get the price down to demonstrate it is a good clean source of energy. Ukraine has used green energy to see out the Russian attacks on fossil fuel plants. Putin has moronically destroyed Russians markets, https://www.energyvoice.com/oi A diverse energy system is best with a range of sources and no dirty coal. Today wind and solar and not delivering (wind 7%) so flexibility is required. Less gas the better. Wind on a normal day delivers 40% + with nuclear about 10%. [Post edited 3 Mar 17:19]

We would also have a lot of people employed. This argument has been made for years without anyone being able to come up with a strong argument against producing our own oil and gas when we need it.

Trump has just this minute slated UK policy on oil purchase from Norway when we’ve got more available and cheaper in our own oil fields. I’m sure he’s right. He also dissed Khan which is always welcomed by me.

The insistence of importing rather than using our own oil and gas is a great example how the preaching, patronising so called progressives make decisions based on what they think is right rather than on what is best for everyone.

It is none of his business in a diplomatic sense, He may of course be speaking on behalf of his favourite donors from "big oil" who may or may not be corrupt. I have noted that the oil revenues from Venezuela are going to a bank in Qatar not a regulated US bank where it could been subject o legal supervision as an ESCROW type fund. https://www.independent.co.uk/ Trump is probably corrupt. On the other hand he has not agreed to reimburse Exxon mobile and the likes if they do not do what t he says. He has little control over wind turbines. No wonder he hates them. It would also have helped if a previous government hadn’t been so short sighted and allowed the Rough Field storage site to close. We’re effectively at the mercy of the markets now.

Trump is one of the most corrupt people in the world. He will have his comeuppance I am sure. Yes, most of our fuel comes from Norway, affordable and plenty of supply. Keep the North Sea for when we really need it. Good tactic from successive Governments. It’s stockpiled. Fill your cars now. Since Saturday it’s gone up by about 14ppl so far. You will see the rise at the pumps every couple of days. The refineries are cashing in on this, selling stock to distributors at high prices when they bought it cheap weeks ago. Trump eh.
| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Well he's right but Millipede doesn't want to see it, he's dished out massive contracts out to China for these turbines which cost a fortune plus the cost of shipping them here those ships must be emitting some serious emissions, but it suits the Millipede's agenda, he couldn't give a flying one about emissions when its all said and done, probably got butties making fortunes.

and helped if Milibands insane rush to net zero had not been allowed to happen despite the previous governments many poor decisions regarding our energy security.

Filled up last week, so wasn’t aware prices had shot up 14ppl. We’re being ripped off, I appreciate that the spot prices and future contract prices will go up, but there’s no way the prices should shoot up that quickly because the stocks in the pumps and at the refineries have been there long before this conflict kicked off.
| Qatari gas and supply interruptions. on 21:40 - Mar 3 with 398 views | ReslovenSwan1 | People on here supporting Trump fail to understand that the gas in the north Sea basin belongs to the UK and is not going anywhere. It will still be there in decades or centuries to come when it will presumably be a lo more expensive. We presumably have good long term contract with Norway to serve UK interests. UK has a lack of storage for a whole range of energy supplies. Storage costs money. | |

| Qatari gas and supply interruptions. on 02:26 - Mar 4 with 324 views | AnotherJohn | One irony of Miliband's policy is that he says further exploration and development in the UK North Sea sector will damage the environment, but is willing to buy from Norway, which is pushing ahead with new fields in its own North Sea sector. As AI states: "The Norwegian continental shelf is experiencing a period of significant exploration and development, with several new oil and gas fields coming online". Latest one was announced in recent days. https://www.reuters.com/busine The problem with the argument that we are keeping our North Sea oil and gas for the future is that all our heavy industry and much of our refining capacity will be gone by then - bankrupted by high energy prices. Almost everybody agrees that we need a transition to clean energy, but the way we are managing things in the UK makes no sense. | | | |

Its Milibands shit or bust strategy, when it does go tits up he'll be finished and he knows that without doubt, but the rising energy costs that he is causing isn't coming out of his pocket.
