We are better than Bristol and should win but they and Hodgson are no mugs.
Win it and I think we will see Ipswich and Millwall drop points this week, setting us up for an automatic spot play off 'final' against Ipswich and fantastic trip to Preston. |  |

The summer of 2024 is generally considered bad, but if we take out the likes of TBH & Downes who signed permanently on loan it still isnt as bad as some would have you believe.
Hits
Nathan Wood £3 million - Still playing a part
Kuryu Matsuki - £1.5 million, Slated as a Sport Republic money laundering, but played a full part this season bargain.
Cameron Archer - £15 million - Miss last season, but wasn't suited to any of the managers, this season under Tonda has come good and his 4 goals could be the difference if we get automatic promotion.
Mateus Fernandez -£15 million, great in his one season and sold for £38 million, great bit of business, pity we couldnt keep him
Arron Ramsdale - £20 million, was good last season and we are covering our costs this season with his loan at Newcastle, could he return and play next season or if not we will get our money back on him.
So/so
Ronnie Edwards £ 3 million - Not a big contribution, low cost gamble who we should get money back on in the summer and a small profit.
Suguwara £6 million - Not a total disaster and no worse than some, we will probably just about cover costs when we sell him.
Misses
Ben Brereton Diaz £7 million - Not likely to get that back when sold, but covered our costs for most of his time here.
I have discounted Lallana/ Taylor & Fraser as they were all free transfers and squad players and ignored by all three managers.
All in all in the broader picture wit isnt as bad a window as it could have been , we would have gone down whoever we bought i=under Russell Martin.
The profit on Mateuz Fernadez paid for the lot of them and we might well bring in more income if we sell Ramsdale |  |

1. Covering our costs refers to their wages , not the transfer fees
2. We don't know what our real gain or loss is till a player leaves.
3. The 3 free transfers would have had signing on fees and wages, in the case of Lalanna we were paying him and he was earning his wages by coaching, They were cheap gambles in Premier League terms.
4. This thread wasn't about the season as a whole, it was about individual players and their worth, if we say that it is a disaster then Lallana was a successful signing as he cost nothing other than wages and Harwood-Bellis was a complete disaster as he cost £20 million | |

That’s an insane way of looking at it.
Great we make a £1mill on Edward’s , but we lose a 100mill because we bought a bunch of players that were not good enough and we got relegated. | |
