A short time ago the EFL gave Leicester City a 6 point deduction and no fine.
Southampton have been stupid. Clearly what we should’ve done was over the last three seasons spent loads of money that we can’t afford to, and ignore the PSR rules like Leicester did.
The football authorities PSR rules state that a club cannot lose more than £105m in a three-year period which is reduced by £22m for every season the club spends outside the PL. In 2021./22 Leicester made a loss of £92.5m in the PL (finishing eight); in 2022/23 they made a loss of £89.7m in the PL and in the 2023/24 season they made a loss of £19.4m in the championship. So in three seasons they were only allowed to make an £83m loss yet made a £202m loss. Now following on from this they have posted a loss of £71.1m for last season yet they only got a suspended 6 points deduction and no monetary penalty.
We should have ignored PSR and gone out and bought a £40m striker, £40m goalkeeper and a £40m CB, then we’d have blown everyone away in the championship this season have been promoted in first place.
If found guilty, we would’ve had a six point deduction and no fine next time we were in the championship just like Leicester.
Let’s not forget this financial cheating gave Leicester an advantage over a prolonged period enabling them to finish 8th in the PL, get to the UEFA Europa Conference League semi final, get promoted as champions of the Championship, win the FA cup and get to the quarter finals of the FA Cup and League Cup as well as win the Charity Shield. This is cheating on a massive scale over a three year period to gain ACTUAL advantages (plural) not a failed attempt to observe a corner routine in a one off game.

End of we have had a 10 point deduction to kick us out of the playoffs and a 4 point deduction next season. That’s 8 points more than Leicester for what they did

Maybe Saints wouldn't have been in a play off spot without cheating. They were sliding into a relegation fight until Eckert appeared.
