I think probably what's likely happened is initially he probably wasn't keen on the idea, and fair enough it's a move from Valencia to Swansea in the Championship.
But if he's taken some time to consider it, then he's going to go from a club where it's not quite worked out for him, to a club and a manager that really wants him, that does have strong Portugease connections, and the Championship will be a lot better paying than it would have been 5 years where there is the opportunity to go onto play in the Premier League.
On the face of it it wouldn't seem like the best of moves for him, but the more he'll look at it the more sense it will make. | |

The more I look at clips of him (and it's only clips in fairness), the more I think he's going to be used as one of the deeper midfielders here.

Competing for two positions to me makes sense. Then there's about 8 players competing for 3 positions slightly further ahead which is a lot granted, maybe a sale or two in that area.
I just don't see the room for Almeida to play higher up and join those 8, and when you watch him he doesn't score or assist too many goals, but he's got all the attributes you want from someone deeper. | |

Hence the buy option on the Benfica left back.
He doesn’t want players not dedicated to impress and improve the club and loans aren’t his thing. Yalcouye last season as an example. That’s pretty much come from someone who knows what going on. | |

With a heavy amount of loans it's just an endless cycle of having to rebuild a team every year, with no real upside on a decent percentage of the players we're developing. | |

A very busy transfer window isn't it, probably one of our busiest, plus we are offloading u21s who won't make the squad this season. Almeida won't be a loan in my opinion, his club need the money and we want to buy, Keith has already stated that Matos doesn't want loans unless the are necessary. | | | |

The issue es a lot of social media accounts regurgitating news from three days ago which as you can expect is three days old. There’s all sorts flying about regards him being forced out of Valencia, gun to his head comments. Apparently though a certain forum with no registered owner or any details is stating Tom Coleman has all the facts.
