Lacklustre performance from Saints in first half although Watford won most first and second balls in a fighting perforrmance. Saints seemed too complacent not really threatening Watford who pressed Saints who knocked the ball around in a dangerous Russell Martin style. No creativity. Agree with that. Trouble is Grumps we have to protect Larin because he’s our only proven striker. Thought Larin should have scored at 2-1

Need to be a bit sharper and attack with more pace. Too much playing it backwards when getting close the opponents box rather than taking the man on and keeping them on the back foot. Plus we gifted them both their goals with terrible decisions.
I thought Downes was outstanding and Bragg did well too. The keeper made some good punched clearances but can't really be faulted for either goal (especially the second when everyone stood off expecting a cross rather than challenging). |
The goal where they broke away (as opposed to offered up by JS) was a disgrace. It was clear from the moment they broke, even in their own half that there was no cover. The guy ran from inside his own half into the penalty area, unchallenged. JS simply watched it happen whilst jogging back to the goal. Just like two relegations ago. |  |

Yes Manning gave the ball away but Slack Jack should have been able to cover & block which he didn't do.
He stood off the player & allowed him to shoot & score.
Very poor defending but that is what you get from Slack Jack.
