Need to be a bit sharper and attack with more pace. Too much playing it backwards when getting close the opponents box rather than taking the man on and keeping them on the back foot. Plus we gifted them both their goals with terrible decisions.
I thought Downes was outstanding and Bragg did well too. The keeper made some good punched clearances but can't really be faulted for either goal (especially the second when everyone stood off expecting a cross rather than challenging). | | | |

Some tactical mistakes. Dobbin on left didn't work. Need another strong combative midfielder, Bragg tidy but not a ball winner. Scienza can get kicked out of the game. Jack not up to speed. We had too many players that were well off the pace in 1st half.
Particularly Slack Jack & James Bree who both looked as if they had done no pre season training.
There's no way that Slack Jack should be playing, he wasn't good enough 5 yrs ago & is even worse now, he hacked the ball straight to their forward for the first goal & failed to block for their second goal.
Dobbin just doesn't impress me, too similar to the old Nathan Redmond.
Watford totally bullied & intimidated us in 1st half, we missed Casper Janders tenacity in midfield.
7 points adrift after just one game, but its an awfully long season & we can make up that deficit.
One thing for sure is that those that started today are unlikely to be the same as those that start after the transfer window closes. | | | |

Meanwhile, THB refused to comment when asked about whether he is staying, so his head has been turned. Our manager will also have a touchline ban at some point at the very least.Watford are an average side in this league and after our players saying they were like wounded animals, what we got was being totally outplayed in that first half. I wish I had your confidence. Watford are also tipped to go down and we were supposed to be angry and ready to put two fingers up at the EFL. Instead, we got completely outplayed by an average team and mistakes galore in that first half. Lincoln put up a brave fight but Boro won because they spent 20 million on a proven striker. We'll get better and sharper as the season goes on.
Disappointing today that we couldn't quite find that equaliser. I would have taken 2-2 before kick-off today because Watford always seem to find quick, pacey attacking players that always seem to cause us (and many other teams) problems.
We were far from what we know we are capable of today. I think the Championship is tougher this season than last. There are several teams who are well equipped to finish in the top 7 or 8 places besides us. A good win against Stoke next weekend and we'll be off and running & this forum will be a lot happier place.
