Everton Up For Sale 09:01 - Oct 9 with 631 viewsSaintNick

This is a strange one

"The Friedkin Group (TFG) are ready to sell Everton less than two years after completing their takeover of the Merseyside club. The American ownership group is seeking external investment in the Premier League side but would consider selling if the right buyer emerged to take Everton 'forward.'"

In a club statement released this morning (Friday), the Blues confirmed TFG are 'exploring new investment options' for the club, including the 'potential sale of a controlling interest.'

They have only only been at the club two years, so not sure what has changed according to a football finacial analyst

"Ultimately, The Friedkin Group are American sports franchise investors and investors, by definition, are looking for a return on their investment. Perhaps running the club as a solid enterprise in the Premier League, getting a couple of years of improved revenues and using that for the basis of a sale could form part of a broader strategy.

"If that is the case, then does it mean that the transfer budget is dictated to by non-football reasons rather than footballing ones in terms of not creating a significant transfer payables budget and transfer payables sum which might have to be dealt with on exit."

This is modern football and personally I think big changes to the structure are needed a European Super League is imminent, probably bankrolled by the UAE

I suspect they have realised that there is no point to buying a non top 6 club as you will not be allowed to compete with them monetarily.

They've essentially 'flipped' Everton. They've bought the club at the right time and price, brought financial stability, supported the move from Goodison to the Hill Dicko and have taken them as far as they can given they also own Roma and the multi owner UEFA club rule means only one of them can play in the CL (not that Everton come close) meaning they cant get a good sniff at the main trough.

I dont think it makes a massive jot who comes in as long as they are not lunatics and ruin the club. Progress in near enough impossible until the Sky 6 bugger off.

You have a good handle on the situation, they have probably realised that they can get Roma into the CL a lot easier than Everton and indeed Roma as Champions etc, due to the lack of real competition there at the moment.

You could say the same about Spurs & Newcastle they can't spend enough to compete as 5 clubs have more,

A flip is exactly how I saw it too. Just need to see Dion Dublin doing the video for people with too much money to burn, showing them the stairs leading to the, seats.

Too many weirdo owners out there though. It'll be another 'merican knobber with too much cash, probably Britney Spears & Ice T teaming up; Netflix series to follow.

Be interesting to see what they are put up for. 350mill owed on the stadium. Are they selling the ladies team as well that they sold to them selves for 50mill?

Why anyone would spend 300 or 400mill to buy them (unless they are a life long supporter) is anyone’s guess. As someone else said that applies to any club outside the top 6.

The BBC said they have 400mill debt and looking to sell in the region of 750-800mill. So in essence they value Everton at 1.2billion. Absolute jokers
