Could be said that its hardly surprising with this government strangling the taxpayers with more and more taxes, just what is the point

Yep, I have used another descriptive i.e. "taking the foot off the gas peddle". When people get punished repeatedly with taxes attitudes change.

The hard left have no awareness of this, like the idiot who wanted a 100% rate of inheritance tax, seriously these idiots are out there.

What is the point of working extra to put money away and save if we are edging towards a society where it is taken off you by the government. The current government and some who believe in this approach really are clueless and have no concern for the future.

Continuation of a society that destroys incentives and morale where people might as well p1ss all their money up against the wall, be irresponsible and do as little as possible rather than give it directly to the government? That will turn the U.K into even more of a basket case than what it is now.

And of course the brightest and best will leave the country and go to another.

Yep, I'm a quiet quitter. Or as I have called it, doing the bare minimum. Partly because of the reasons above and partly because I'm nearly 60 and a bit knackered. It helps that I took an easy job mind.

Our governments have, for decades, been ruining this country. They've all been looking after themselves and their friends and there is very little left that us ordinary people are willing to give. So if productivity drops, profits drop, GDP drops the government can blame themselves and take a 2 finger salute.

Seems like Burnham has kicked the Welfare Bill into the long grass and will not review it until 2028 , major front page headlines upcoming of course or a clever small print excuse .

Carry on as normal for the less well off , just how can you make this chaos continue .

Maybe obviously leaked out when all eyes are over The Pond and their Politics .

Very clever to get bad news onto the small column inches of page five in the Press .

Was going to say page three , not ready for incoming if I mentioned them times .

I've always worked on the basis of a fair exchange between what I produce and what I get back, what I get back is not just money.
I've taken voluntary redundancy twice, once from a Company that was taken over and I did not like the ethnics of the new business and the second time because the business became pretty dysfunctional.
I get quite a lot of enjoyment from my current job, but the travelling has increased in recent years as more and more work is on the other side of the Severn Bridge.
The biggest problem I hear about right now is the lack of vacancies.

I'd happily take voluntary redundancy right now, it won't be offered though with me up for official retirement this time next year.

It's 1,000 millionaires a month quitting the UK apparently.

1000 per month is a prediction, HMRC say...

The Counter-Narrative and Official Data

• Tax Authority (HMRC) & Tax Justice Network: Subsequent analysis and reviews by organizations like the Tax Justice Network and data from HMRC have challenged the scale of these numbers. They note that initial private-wealth reports relied heavily on survey/social-media work-location data rather than verified physical emigration.
• Actual Impact: Government reviews indicated that the number of wealthy non-doms actually dropped by a fraction (around 0.5%), and actual net millionaire migration remains a small percentage of the UK's total millionaire population (which numbers over 3 million).

Exactly my point, assuming I live that long I want to be fit enough to do some travelling when I retire!

Haven't put myself up for overtime shift or 12 month now, I do work O/T if a job over runs because I have to, but 1 minute up to several hours my O/T claim goes in straight away right up to the second, before I was swings & roundabouts but not now.

My social candle burns quicker these days and I'm sorry to say I'm done with this country. I was born in 1970 when globally we were still a power house with respect shown for us all over the world, our culture, courage, spirit and our silly little ways.
I'm not fighting age but if I was and a war broke out who or what am I fighting for??

They wanted British working class in the fields, factories, fighting their wars but now we are not needed unless you want to work in Amazon.

All we do is apologise

I don’t think quiet quitting is a new thing.

Go back 25 years and mates who worked in Ford Bridgend, Port Talbot and Trostre had the easiest, best paid jobs I’ve ever known.

The idea that this is a new thing is for the birds.

I don't do overtime, I used to do same as you and accept that its swings and roundabouts, but since they started relentlessly pursuing this micro management we got to manage our time, so I try not to do any these days, in fact if its clear that a job is gonna take me over my time, it goes back. I'm off at moment with a back injury and apart from the pain, I'm enjoying the peace and quiet.

Do not rush to go back to work mate, our manager tries to micro manage us and its embarrassing for him and us as he is an ex Royal Marine sergeant, we just say yeah give us the piece of paper to sign or the video to watch then we can get on with our job and then Foxtrot Oscar back home ASAP.
