Just to add and reiterate I don't like the bloke at all and he made himself instantly unpopular when he moved in around my way years ago.
For 6 years he bought and closed down one of my favourite local pubs with his egotistical plans - we nearly booked our wedding reception there 20 years ago - amazing pub with stunning views over The Chilterns. Happy to report it is back as a community asset and fully re-opening in December and some of us are already planning a visit.

I went to a “ community” pub in the Chilterns near High Wycombe
Hated it
Never felt to out of place
I ordered a drink and I honestly thought the bar person was traumatised my my hybrid Swansea/Wirral accent
Had a meal and it was meh

Yes, when these accusations first came out I'd heard nothing so I asked my wife and former colleagues going back to the 90s if they'd heard anything and everyone said no - and believe me it's a very gossipy industry, but today on my socials a couple have reported incidents as red flags after I'd left those particular broadcasters one in 2009 and one in 2016. Also having read a lot more about the court case this morning in more detail I'm pretty sure of his guilt now even if not all the charges stuck.
He was, again as being reported this morning, it would seem very well protected within the industry which is why his offences remained hidden for so long. However I still will say as in my earlier post that he's upset some very powerful people in recent times and thus his protectors won't have been able to shield him any longer.
What we thought was just a harmless egomaniac bellend comedian was a narcissistic predator.
The former colleague that told me about the 2016 incident put it very well saying this is why he has constantly tried to reinvent himself every few years to absolve himself of previous offending - typical behaviour for an unaccountable narcissist.
If that's true I would expect more to come forward and probably more recent than the 6 he was accused of. I cannot abide the woman but Katherine Ryan has said today that the predator she has been going on about for years was Brand. I think if (years previous to court case or accusations) you asked people to name a celebrity that they think would treat women like absolute dirt I reckon his name would have cropped up time and time again. He gave off that certain type of vibe!

People will be sent to dig up dirt on them and then a big bright light will be shone on their unpalatable behaviour and actions.

We all suspect that there is corruption and wrong doing going on in the so called "high society" and will no doubt be horrified if we knew the truth, but like you say the arse covering runs deep, there's no doubt that they are aware of the skeletons they all have hiding in their wardrobes without a doubt and if even parts of it came out it would all fall apart, which wouldn't be a bad thing without doubt. |  | | |

I remember reading about Sid Vicious whom it has been said (from the likes of Johnny Rotten) that he was not in anyway mentally suited to be famous. A case of ditto Russell Brand.
One ended up in Rikers Island the other in HMP Wandsworth, fame led them down a very dark path! | |
