It’s a very relative view of ‘healthy’. Nick’s right in that we’re not saddled with huge earners like Pompey were but in some ways they at least had the benefit of being able to sell those players. We have big earners who are mostly Shiite and will be far harder to move on. The quality of our playing and back room staff (with the exception of RH) has been decimated and that has all happened under Gao’s watch. If the times article is correct and the next set of financial figures don’t paint a pretty picture then it just shows how lucky we were to stay up in 2018. But for Swansea’s abject failure we would be in a worse position than the Lowe/Wilde days. It also shows how fragile our self lauded sustainable business model is.
