Saints Rumoured To Be Up For Sale on 11:12 - Mar 8 with 1017 views | this_charming_man | Perhaps the default payment explains the rumors Kat was suing Goa. Anyway so much for his commitment and wanting to retire to the area, we stop making a profit and he wants out. Can’t see anyone paying £250m in the current climate for us when there is better value to be had elsewhere.

Saints Rumoured To Be Up For Sale on 11:24 - Mar 8 with 993 views | DorsetIan | Nick, you must be a real 'glass half full' man. Gao has been a massive disappointment and yet you continue to praise him because he could have been worse. Interesting that he defaulted on his payment. Some of us on here have been suggesting for a long time that he's got no money. It's giving him the benefit of the doubt again to say that he has a problem 'getting money out of China'. The simplest explanation is usually the best - let's just assume he has no money. It's the oldest debtor line in the business: 'I've got the money, I just can't get it until...'

“If goa does go he’s left the club in a healthy state” Really? I’d say we’re in a far worse state then when he arrived.

The wage bill is a lot lower and there are fewer first team shirts and boots to keep clean.

It’s a very relative view of ‘healthy’. Nick’s right in that we’re not saddled with huge earners like Pompey were but in some ways they at least had the benefit of being able to sell those players. We have big earners who are mostly Shiite and will be far harder to move on. The quality of our playing and back room staff (with the exception of RH) has been decimated and that has all happened under Gao’s watch. It is incredible that Nick cannot find one negative thing to say about him when we have gone from potential European regulars to regular relegation fighters, all of which took place under the current regime.

Saints Rumoured To Be Up For Sale on 12:24 - Mar 8 with 866 views | this_charming_man | If the times article is correct and the next set of financial figures don’t paint a pretty picture then it just shows how lucky we were to stay up in 2018. But for Swansea’s abject failure we would be in a worse position than the Lowe/Wilde days. It also shows how fragile our self lauded sustainable business model is. Over reliant on successful transfer policy with a nessassity to sell players for vast profits, now there been exposed the reality is it’ been run by clowns and geeks since Koeman left with Goa appearing to naively think you can get away season after season with making clever transfer decisions to weaken the squad whilst spending as little as possible and stay up year after year. 2018 should have been the warning shot to how close we were to falling into the abyss but it seems to have been ignored. Off the pitch making as many costly errors as those on it,

If Saints net spend the least in the league and are still in a financial mess, then the sustainable model has been a complete failure. Nick will see Gao for what he is in the end. He will walk out and take the club's money to China one day or something like that and leave us in a state. Gao buys the clubs using loans, the team deteriorates, he doesn't say one word to the fans, rumoured arguments with Kat, suspected past involvement with criminal activities and now he wants to sell? Doesn't sound like a decent owner for Southampton to me.

The money that clubs get for just being in the Premiership is eye watering.
