I would suggest it’s highly likely that wearing masks is going to be advised by the government imminently. I don’t fancy wearing a surgical mask but I’ve noticed a few enterprising individuals are making and selling washable re-usable coverings (of varying quality...) that don’t look quite so ridiculous. With a heavy heart I have ordered a couple because like it or not wearing some kind of face covering is going to become the new norm as we wait for a vaccine. The latest estimate is 12 to 18 months for a vaccine and/or 8 to 10 waves of infection before we reach herd immunity.

I can see that people could work in offices and factories wearing the masks, but fail to see how this is going to be anything other than a semi-permanent death knell for pubs, clubs and restaurants.

No football for at least 12 months either then.
