It seems the only point is to get Liverpool over the line

I don't agree with neutral venues either. What a complete waste of time. Half the point of football, in league form, is the home advantage aspect. Not being able to play on your own ground & not having any of your own fans present defeats the whole object... unless this whole charade is about nothing other than £££-money-£££.

I don't agree either and dont agree this season should restart at all
BUT my point was how on earth can it be agreed that we restart only if relegation is abandoned, seriously why bother?

As I’ve said elsewhere, it seems the whole of the bottom 6 are opposed to neutral venues.

If they are sensible, they will collude and mount a legal challenge, which will delay things by months.

By which time the second wave of the virus will be in full swing, and there will be little option other than to void the season.

And they re-start next season next year with the whole season behind closed doors with the same 20 clubs, plus Leeds and West Brom.

If the games cant be played in front of supporters then it should simply be abandoned, if it were one or two games then possibly...but 90 odd games is just ridiculous.

The greed is the only thing apparent at the moment.

Is it greed though or is it they need the cash? Unfortuantely football has made a rod for it's own back by paying players such ridiculous wages and being over reliant on TV money. If the season doesn't get finished do they lose TV income? I have no idea but some clubs, including our own are dependant on it to pay the bills, lose it and some club would be hugely in the sh!t financially, us included.

The other thing that would possibly be detrimental to the idea is millions turning their backs on the televised matches due to lack of atmosphere and non competitive performances...may do more harm than good.

Tottenham want the season abandoned to stop paying the players bonuses apparently...so its definitely money driven...

I feel if the grounds are empty then there should be no games until it's safe to fill them...its the correct way to advance.

I agree and have no appetite whatsoever to watch the remainder of our games this season on tv with no crowd.

As for playing out the whole of next season behind closed doors.....well that suggestion is just ridiculous.

This is the thing about this debate. All valid points being made but there won't be a vaccine for some time, if at all.

In that case, do we stop football completely for up to a few years? Do we resume in August / September but behind closed doors? If we start again in August behind closed doors, then surely the whole season needs to be behind closed doors. Or do we scrap football until the virus has disappeared? In that situation, most clubs would go out of business but until a vaccine is found, players could get it at any time over the next few years.

So voiding the season is valid, but what about the future? Void now is surely an argument for voiding until a vaccine is found. If it is not safe to finish the season now, then it won't be in safe for the rest of this year.
