On that showing last night, nobody deserves to be in the starting XI. It really was a comedy of errors and the ref wasn't the only clown.
1st - Bert ducked out of the way
2nd - Ramsey wrong side of his man and Stephens just stuck out a leg
3rd - Armstrong gave it straight back on the edge of the box and the OG
4th - Stephens gave him a free header
5th - Bed got the wrong side of his man
6th - Stephens assist - why not put it out for a corner instead ? Safety First
7th - Bed positioning error, but pulled out but Martial still dived
8th - Stephens and Tchaptchet both missed their headers
9th - Tchaptchet ball watching
At the other end, Adams scored a good goal, only for it to be incorrectly ruled out - then missed the best chance we had, blazing over with his left foot. At least we now know why he elected to shoot with his right v Villa when it would have been easier to shoot with his left. Shame these chances don't fall to Ings instead, as he is decent with his left foot.
The thing is, unless Vest, KWP and a few others are back, then because of the potential suspensions, we will be even weaker than we were last night. I guess then there will be a tendency to bring players back too early out of necessity and therefore risk further injury !!

We all agree about the officials last night. We all agree that we have been cheated. But I will say again, we could have at least had Long, Valery and Vokins available and they should have brought in reinforcements in defence. Who we going to play Saturday possibly without Bednerak and Stephens? The club has to ask itself some questions or whoever made those decisions. [Post edited 3 Feb 2021 14:00]
