Alan McLoughlin RIP 17:48 - May 4 with 936 viewsSadoldgit

Died of cancer aged 54. He was our first £1m signing and my memory of him was being very disappointed with his performances with us. He did well elsewhere though. 54 is no age. RIP

Yeah, heard that. Strange never any mention of him playing down here, in fact TSport just mentioned the former "Swindon and Portsmouth player"!

But I remember him as being a pretty good player for us, although obviously most of his time was down the road

But even so, 54 is no age is it. RIP

Very sad. I always thought he got a rough deal at The Dell. There was some story about how the final transfer fee we paid depended on the number of appearances & we were desperate to sell him before he reached the magic figure.

Poll: Where do you hope to see Salisu start (OK, I know we haven't seen him yet)?

That’s no age and very sad. Shame his career went downhill after Saints.

Poll: Which manager would you prefer Saints to have?

We never really saw the best of him at Saints, as his ideal position was in the hole behind the forwards, but we never played him there.

RIP Alan
