Wolf Alice do appeal to us older chaps. They are Jeremy Corbyn's favourite band. I saw them a couple of times in their early years - Soton Guildhall and Hyde Park but not the legendary gig at the Joiners, which in years to come everybody will claim to have been at - and they weren't very good. They have improved a lot over the years and this is easily their best album. Markus Dravs has obviously had a big influence.

They haven't sold out at Soton Guildhall yet but neither has Paul Weller. People are wary of buying tickets after so many events have been cancelled.
I think it has sold out, when you click on the buy tickets link it says no tickets available, it's been cancelled twice so perhaps the link has resales sometimes
I think the top ticket price was £99 which tells you all you need to know about Paul Weller these days

I saw HAIM at the Milton Keynes Bowl, when they were supporting Kings of Leon, and they appeared to be fairly limited musicians who traded on their looks more than their music. But, I've been listening to their third album, Women in Music, Pt.3, and think it's very good.
I wonder, however, how much the quality of albums is the result of having a great producer. Just as you can hear Markus Dravs' influence all over Blue Weekend, you can hear the Batmanglij & Rechsteid sound on Women in Music. I reckon if the Uglies had Dravs, Batmanglij &Rechsteid as producers, even we could make a great album.
Of course, having great session musicians to play the actual music also helps.

Aha, no not the boy band, now I recollect I have heard of them. I know one of the members of My Everest who cited them as an inspiration several years ago.
