Brighton on 23:53 - Jan 18 with 1008 views | dirk_doone | They are having the best season in their history. What Tony Bloom has achieved there is remarkable. He's taken them from the bottom half of the third tier with average home gates of 6,000 to the top half of the Premier League with average home gates of 30,000. He loves that club. No wonder he's one of the most popular owners in football.

Not a bad manager either! Though would he be able to handle a "big club" if the opportunity came along? At the moment he knows he has a job for life (a la Howe) but does he have the ambition?

It is indeed admirable how they keep scoring late equalisers. That said, there's a fine line between 'Don't know when they're beaten' and 'Don't know how to win a game', and that's 11 draws for them now (we're not far behind, mind you). If you believe the Newcastle example in Rasmus's Moneyball video you could argue that Brighton might be in a bit of trouble next season if they stop sneaking those late goals.
Brighton on 16:35 - Jan 19 with 736 views | saint901 | It's quite odd how some teams just don't know how to lose. I've been more than happy to see Saints develop some of that attitude (the Wolves game was never a 3-1 and we could easily have got a point there with a little more luck). Some teams though do have a genuine belief that they can't lose a match. We used to see it in the "big" teams where they expected to win matches - and did. Have a think abut how "Fergie time" came about. I once played in a team that lost or drew every match up to Christmas, leaving us well down the table and a couple of days after Christmas we got a scrappy win against the top of the league side (some of their players looked drunk to be honest) and we didn't lose another game all season. Finished close to the promotion slots. That was driven by belief and we player every minute as though it was the first. Brighton did that against us even when down to ten men. Not only does it help your team, ir demoralises the opposition.

If they had a decent striker they’d be challenging for top 6 this season. He’s doing a great job is Potter, I don’t know why he distanced himself from the Everton job
