we have done in the past , Manolo Gabbiadini was a last gasp signing in 2017 and he started very well but tailed off a little as his style didn't really suit the way we played under Puel, Pellegrino or Hughes.

We dont like January windows we consider them over priced and panic ridden

It’s that with the new owners we now have the ability to make something happen .

Don’t forget we have surplus funds from the summer

We should make signings because we need them not because we can,

With Everton signing all these midfielders, Tom Davies is going to struggle to get a look-in.

Think he has been linked in the past…..

Why not go and get Johnstone from WBA or Henderson from Man U on loan. Or cavaillio from Fulham?

We are 12 or 13th so hardly world beaters

I would have lliked to have seen a keeper but its not urgent , Carvallo from fulham is a talent but unproven

When do we sign proven talent? That’s rarely our model.

I think Forester has been ok , but a decent keeper might be the difference between top 10 and not.

I’m actually slightly disappointed we have not signed Broja permanently. We have made a lot of noise about him in the window

So are you saying we don't need them? We're not safe yet and with every one around us seemingly doing what they must believe will be improvements, maybe we should start looking over our shoulders?

Not sure he will make it there, for them £17 million is worth a gamble

£5 mill is good business given he is out of contract, but some sources saying £8 million but might not happen , Liverpool have to loan him back but might just wait till summer

I don’t advocate spunking money for the sake of it, but did you think the new owners might of made a statement.
I hope we haven’t missed our chance to sign Broja permanently

I think we wanted to sign Broja, probably all the rumours about West Ham, Newcastle & Everton spooked both Chelsea and the player himself, I think the fact that none of them actually made a move will make it easier in the summer to try and get him permanently

We might just have been able to afford him in this transfer window. There was a report that West Ham were offering Chelsea £27 million for him. If he continues his current form, he'll be worth more like £40 mill in the summer, which will definitely put him out of our price range.

But, it's a positive that we at least get to keep him until then.

True but if he has a blinder between now and end of season there is little chance we'll keep him. Guaranteed to be out bidded.

My only wishlist from this transfer window ( given rumours etc) we're Henderson and Broja. Either would have been great. Both would have been ideal for me.

If saints stay up and we get then in close season then fair play, but am not holding my breath.

Agree there will be no chance we can afford him come the summer. I think we have to appreciate him for his short time here and move on.
