Does anyone know what kit we will be wearing? Presumably it will be the "white", but you never know these days!

For those looking for somewhere decent to drink the Blue Boar is an excellent pub, really good selection of beers and almost no Saints fans so you don't have to worry about our support embarrassing themselves by singing songs at the bar staff.

What, you mean you don't like frequenting boozers with our lot chirping 'yellows, yellows.....' ?

Mind you, s'pose the latest will have to be 'wavey blues, wavey blues'......

Ready and waiting to mop up those European places......

Not having a yellow away kit is one of the best things to happen this season, hearing our away fans scream yellows at the pitch every five seconds like toddlers with memory problems who've just discovered they can identify a colour is hands down one of the worst parts of most away games.

One of the latest depressing moments was when the Northam started chanting ohhh Gavin Bazunu (7 nation army) in a frenzied manner after he made a save at the weekend

The pits in originality

We truly need some original songs that are not sung by everybody , everyone seems keen on the sash kit so perhaps this one

It is old but it is beautiful, and its colours they are fine
It was worn at the Antelope & St Mary's saw it's time
My father wore it as a youth in bygone days of yore,
And when Southampton play I love to wear the sash shirt my father wore.

Problem with original songs is they never catch on as the nipper take their inspiration from social media not music,

As i've mentioned before we've tried a few that should work but don't,

To the dock of the bay -

Left my home in Hampshire,
Headed out from Weston Bay
I've got something to live for, support Southampton to my dying day.

Oh sitting on the dock of the bay, watching the tide roll away.
(2,3,4)
Sitting on the dock of the bay, wasting time, time, time.
(repeat)

Or for KWP to the tune of Raspberry Beret by Prince (yeah probably wishful thinking but still).

His name is Kyle Walker-Peters,
Signed him from Tottenham and we should've paid more.
His name is Kyle Walker-Peters,
Englands best full back who we all adore.

And then Wints suggestion for Che Adams which is class, to the tune of Ra Ra Rasputin

Che, Che, Che Adams
Signed for Saints from Brimingham
Not just a poster on a students wall.

Che, Che, Che Adams
Southampton newest goal machine
Rides a norton and wears a cravat.

But instead we get songs lifted from Rangers, Liverpool, Celtic or whoever and no hope of new ones catching on unless the nippers have heard it somewhere else before

You have to take a tune that is well known but not being used by others and then adapt it, Liverpool have dozens that are adapted and a cottage industry of one man bands who play them in the pubs so they become well known.

If Hasenhuttl turns it round then I always thought that the tune of Eidelweiss would work

Hasenhuttl Hasenhuttl
Every morning you greet me
Red & White such a sight
At St Mary's you look happy to meet me

Southampton FC may you bloom & grow
Bloom & grow forever
Hasenhuttl Hasenhuttl
Bless our City for ever.

A stirring song if you watch the sound of music , sadly I think it will never be sung here, if the remake was in Southampton, Christopher Plummer would be branded clueless for not signing better children

To be fair there was a lad trying to get a Salisu song going to Sally Cinnamon but it never caught on.

They need to have rousing chorus's etc, I like the song Sally Cinnimon but not sure it lends itself to a football song

All depends on how it's sung, FCUM sing the Carpenters song "on top of the world" with none of the lyrics changed and it sounds amazing

What i meant with Sally Cinnamon is that as a song it doesnt quite flow and changes tempo a little.

On top of the world has that flow

Pulp disco 2000- catchy chorus

Let’s all meet up in the painted wagon
Wasn’t it strange when we left Milton Road
Be there 3 o clock when saints are playing at home

I never knew we’d be in Europe
Sticking Benali pictures on the walls
On that damp and lonely terrace years ago

The other one i liked but would never catch on was to the tune of Sam Cooke's saturday night

Another Saturday night,
On the p*ss for the scum army
Saints are winning and we just got paid.

Drinking your town dry and hoofing all your charlie,
It's the Southampton way.

OOOOOOH another saturday night (and repeat).

Right tempo and would sound great with numbers, but I guess a load would be put off by the drugs reference

Decent that. The nippers would join in with it because of the drug references, but Clive and Cheryl from Fordingbridge would prefer to stick with Yellows Yellows

In fairness, if you are looking for a big anthem as such that all can sing, then you have to make it acceptable to the entire fanbase not just a certain sector of it, otherwise it will never catch on.

I thought the Leeds fans Rodrigo chant was loud and proud.

Could easily change to Joe Aribo.

I was a bit worried that it might take hold, condemning him to the same incoherent ‘success’ as Jeremy.
