I don't count cup goals when evaluating a player, tow of Broja's three came in the rout at Newport, it falsely inflates or inflates a players abilities depending on who the opponents are, if you want a true picture judge a player against teams in the level you want him to play in.
If you want me to add in cup goals then Jake Vokins should be tried up front, if we judge him in the Premier League he is a left back who has started two games, if we add cup appearances in then he has 1 goal every 4 games a better ratio than anyone else on the books at the moment.
Im being a little facetious, but these days cup games can vary so much in the stregth of teams out there you can't use them as a serious barometer | |

I just hope that (if possible) we buy players outright. I don't like loans as we are simply doing the parent clubs development work for them. Then they recall the player and reap the benefits.
Or we buy them and we are saddled with a buy back clause. Frankly I'm not sure that should even be allowed. If we are going to pay for a player then we should be able to set our own price at the time we come to sell them.

The advantage of a buy back clause is that you pay less for the player. We'd never have got Livramento for £5m without one.
Looking at some of Saints signings, what I'd like to see is a get-your-money-back-if-they're-no-good clause. [Post edited 25 Jul 2022 15:17]
