If Saints did attempt to sign him, it doesn't cheer me up to know that he chose Everton instead. Every other team pays more on wages, more in transfer fees and has more ambition (shown by their willingness to pay more). Dembele wants a more ambitious club too. Nick, you lost all credibility on here when you were doing exactly what you accuse me of doing now. Did you walk away? The only difference was when you were doing it we were in the midst of our most successful period since the early 80s but I am doing it when we have had getting on for a decade now of woeful home performances and lower table finishes with precious little given back to the fans for their support.
I'm happy to applaud the club when I think it's not under achieving but right now we are underachieving. With the time we've been in the PL and the infrastructure we have we shouldn't be constantly being overtaken by clubs that get promoted from the Championship | |

As far as the club is concerned - the people who turn up at the home games are consumers not supporters. The club isnt run for the satisfaction of the consumers, its run to make a profit for the owners - hence this summers pretty bad transfer business again not addressing the needs of the team. |  |
