I think it will take 40 points to stay up.

Nobody is cut adrift at the bottom, it’s very tight.

I think we have to somehow finish above Boscombe, Forest and Leeds. I see everybody else getting over 40 points.

There is no way Everton are getting 40 points.

Bournemouth, Saints and Everton are the three worst teams in the league, unless something changes in personnel in the next couple of weeks.

Everton will be fine.

They always pull out the results when they have to.

You could easily have won in the second-half when Calvert Lewin hit the bar, and then when Bazunu did his usual mistake per game and palmed the ball on to Godfrey’s leg for an open goal.

Saints are still in deep trouble. Though they do appear to be playing for their manager.

No chance we need 40 points, I reckon 36 will do it. Everton, Bournemouth and Leeds to go down hopefully.
If we beat Villa Saturday I think we’ll pull clear nicely

I really can’t see Everton going down.

They have a significantly better side than us; with the appointment of a manager to get the best out of them, they should be fine. If they keep Lampard, it may not end well for them.

So many teams have improved their squad/manager this season.
We've got to scrap for every point now and hope for the best.
I would hope 36 pts will be enough.

I reckon like the others about 36 to stay up. To many teams not near averaging a point a game.
That would mean at least another 6 wins and some draws.

I’m wondering if our new manger is going to show similar traits to Ralph. Long losing runs and good runs of form. With nothing In between.

I think it’s Bournemouth are certs then it’s anyones guess.

The number doesn't matter at all. It needs to be one more than eighteenth place and whether it is thirty one or forty five, that's what Saints need.

So the number does matter

But not the guesswork about what it needs to be.

I think Leeds are in trouble with Ted Lasso praising their "performance" and not being "too concerned" about the result.

Leicester and Everton look dreadful and their usually reliable goal scorers are way out of form. Leicester are also missing Maddison who makes them tick.

B'muff likewise struggling with a manager who is out of his depth. West Ham are struggling to find any form.

Perhaps the form team is Wolves.

Saints and all the above are separated by 2 points right now and a run of even three or four decent results, say two wins, two draws, makes things look much better and lifts a team out of the bottom.

Leaving that run to the last 5 or 6 games in the season is dangerous, so I'd like it to be now and in some ways regret the cup games coming up which will drain us of energy and perhaps distract the players' minds.

We can expect all these teams to have a (hopefully) short run of good results and also one of them to crumble.

Overall though I'm thinking 36 or 37 points will be enough and I see Everton, Leicester and Leeds as my favourites to go down.
