A couple of young players looking decent in a very poor side that got relegated, and in Livramento's case for only a few games, doesn't at all convince me that they will be a star for years to come in the very best teams in the world. They weren't good enough to keep us up, like Le Tissier did. Le Tissier, single handedly scored the goals to keep us up. Chelsea and Newcastle will buy in top class players as well in every transfer window, so they will end up earning lots of money sat in the reserves. But I credit Saints for getting a lot of money for players who haven't even played a game yet in the PL this season, as they arn't world class. And if they don't play for a.long period, they will never develop.into.world class players either. But we got our money. [Post edited 27 Aug 2023 22:24]
