Captain Adam Armstong has managed 1 from open play this season and at the moment looks like he will never score again. Ditto Adams who looks decidedly uninterested.

So the answer is a kid who has scored just one goal in a senior competition who has now bagged 2 in a one sided EFL trophy game

It doesn’t really matter how many goals Ballard scores for Reading, as your token response will just be that Adam Armstrong scored 28 goals for Blackburn in the Championship three seasons ago.

Whilst at the same time opining that it doesn’t matter what people did in the past, it’s what they do in the future that counts.

Sunderland's 17 year old who's being given a chance in their first team scored in the 5-0 rout.
Everybody knows Ballard is a similar type of player that knows where the net is ('kid' or not) so what to they do?
Send him to Reading.
Meanwhile Saints bring in an injured striker while continuing with one striker who's definitely not interested, and the other one who's his best (as he has stated) up front down the middle playing in midfield.
It's utter fu cking laughing stock material, and last night yet again, Ipswich knew exactly what to do to get the three points.

Alas we'll never know if young Ballard would have scored more than the hapless Adams, Mara or Armstrong in this league... because we've shown him we don't really give a sh1t by sending him to Reading. He'll probably score plenty of goals for them this season (he's good at that), and it'll be no surprise, to me anyway, that he'll come back and do a Nathan Tella: fook off to someone who'll appreciate him & where he'll actually feel valued and 'wanted'.

Another great decision by Sport Republic/Russell Martin. Keep the ones that couldn't score in a brothel ; ship out the ones that know where the goal is.
