Relegation places now settled this evening ? 22:21 - Apr 1 with 1370 views | saintmark1976 | After Wolves win it’s difficult to see Ipswich or Leicester making up twelve points in nine games now. With Liverpool pretty much certain to win the title it’s going to be a very boring end to the league with everything looking settled by April the First.

The Championship is much better. No VAR. Preston, Stoke, Wrexham, Watford, Middlesbrough…
| We thought that we had the answers,
It was the questions we had wrong. |

With seven games remaining in the Championship, it is wide open with nothing at all decided at the top or bottom. I know where I'd rather be. Welcome back!

Relegation places now settled this evening ? on 10:55 - Apr 2 with 895 views | GRIM | Relegation from Premier for this season was determined at the end of last season. It has now become the norm for the 3 teams that come up from Championship will go straight back down from the Premiership. Yes there have been exceptions like Forest this season but even they struggled in their first season back in Premier. I'm not even bothered now if we don't beat Derby's record low number of points. As much as I love this club our current set up (Owners + coaches + players) are probably the worst in the history of the Premier Lge so if we take that record from Derby, so be it. Let's move on & make sure that we have a club to be proud of in the future. I know my comments will be controversial but that's what this forum is for " Opinions".

Sorry, but how can you just say "so be it"? If we do not get more points than Derby, this will be a stain on this Club's history for decades to come. Not hard to imagine what 130 would be changing his username to. There should be demonstrations and serious unrest about this. Instead you get bellends in the Northam singing "Championship again Ole" and that godawful "We never win at home and we never win away" song. And applauding the players off at the end of games when they have been shite. It's as if they are embracing abject failure. Fcuktards. [Post edited 2 Apr 12:15]

I personally never embrace failure but sometimes we just have to accept it, as is the case for our club this season. We'll get over it but it could take a while.
Relegation places now settled this evening ? on 14:47 - Apr 2 with 621 views | Letissier2398 | If you add all the points gained by the bottom three; they would still be in the bottom half of the league, only emphasising the gap between the Championship and the Premier League.

The Championship was even more predictable than the Premier League this season. Sheffield United,Leeds and Burnley would have been the 3 favourites for promotion at the beginning of the season and thay are 9 points clear of the rest. The only thing that makes it slightly less predictable is the play-off system. Man City were favourites to win the Premier League this season and they are 5th, 22 points off the top. Nobody would have predicted that Forest would be well clear of them in 3rd place or that Man United and Spurs would be 13th and 14th or even that Newcastle would win the League Cup. Of course a first season back in the Championship seems good to Pompey fans as it's the highest league you've been in for 15 years. [Post edited 2 Apr 16:25]

I wouldn't say controversial, but few will share that opinion about not beating the Derby record Despite the fact that there is now a gulf between Prem and Champ, that record will be hard to beat again and I really don't want to take it off Derby and forever be known as the worst club ever We have to believe that we will get those 3 points and I think there are only 2 remaining games where we may get that sought after win. Leicester and West Ham, both away where in theory we will be under less pressure Try and be a bit glass half full not empty Now off for my medication and we'll win 2-0 tonight !

I really don't believe we'll get over it, and we will forever be associated with failure Yes, we may get back to the promised land, ffs look at Bournemouth and Brentford, but we must get those 3 points

Do you think the club peaked too early in 1976?
