You are probably right about a commanding experienced CB to play alongside THB and this would help any goalkeeper, but I still worry that Bazunu is too short - a taller goalie would have easily tipped the Brum goal over the bar, a GK with longer reach could have got to the Oxford winner, he's clearly a good lad but lacking height and reach - not his fault.
I think we will only get a tall centre forward and have to muddle through defensively, but we can always hope. | |

I agree, Baz is just not tall enough or a big enough presence & it costs us goals every game.
You're right a taller keeper would have saved the Birmingham header.
Also the save he made to tip the ball onto his upright looked spectacular but again a taller keeper would have reached it & saved it easily.
I've said before that Baz makes the simple saves look spectacular but cannot stop the more difficult ones.
He always looks nervous & this affects the defenders, they don't trust him that's why they drop off & defend so deep.
Macca might not be a great keeper but he's taller & much calmer than Baz which gives the defence more confidence.
Also we don't persist playing the stupid tippy tippy stuff across the back when Macca is in goal. | | | |

Its seems very strange to me that a Stats driven club like ours have persisted with Bazunu.
He was close to bottom of the 24 keepers in the 23/24 Championship season for goals prevented and shots to saves ratio.
This season he is 23rd out of 24 and 24th for the same stats .
We need a plan B big striker as our crosses are easily dealt with and our midget firwards get bullied easily.
When the opposition press us and we have to go long, we have no one to hold up the ball like Che Adams used to do.
We also need a commanding CB who actually attacks the ball .
Otherwise we'll become a midtable Championship side for many years, which seems likely under this ownership sadly. | | | |
