| No point in hammering teams at home with the away form so poor. 17:37 - Nov 7 with 745 views | saintmark1976 | By anyone’s standards an exceptional poor result against Preston today. Looks like our home form is clouding everyone’s judgment ( mine included ) in reference to automatic promotion. We have now failed to beat Watford, Wrexham, Lincoln and Preston away. All teams which realistically don’t have a prayer of finishing in the top two. Something needs to change and change very quickly when we play theses sorts of teams or the best we can hope for is to finish in the top eight. Commiserations to those who today made the long journey North. [Post edited 7 Nov 17:40]

| No point in hammering teams at home with the away form so poor. on 18:10 - Nov 7 with 0 views | Southamptonfan | Saints thought we could easily win this game against a side bottom of the league. Far too complacent. Two away games on the trot up north, 3 games in a week taking its toll and the injuries are really stacking up. Schlotterbeck with a dislocated shoulder, so he will be out for a while. The biggest thing is not having a replacement for Larin. Mubama is terrible, the Stoke fans told us so, yet we did it because he was a cheap loan. Dobbin had one good game against West Ham but has otherwise been poor. We should have spent 10 million on Vipotnik, Lankshear, Piroe or a proven striker in the summer. We didn't have a focal point today, and couldn't find an answer. We were easy to defend against. Scoring has been a huge problem without Larin. Sciensa is particularly poor too at the moment. The good news is that Tonda said Larin and Jander will be back against Derby. Terrible defeat today, these results could cost us, but still only 5 points off the top 2 and West Ham lost as well. We need some more up front in January. [Post edited 7 Nov 18:11]

Nail on head as usual Southamptonfan. Who on earth at St Mary’s thought it a good idea to let Robinson and Archer go out on loan to be replaced by Dobbin and Mubama ? Probably the same person(s) who thought it a good idea to spend good money on Damion Downs. The E F L really knew what they were doing when they imposed a four point penalty on us.Without it, we can stay in contention for a top two finish with some poor away results, with it, not so. Exactly, what was the point in letting Archer and Robinson go to bring in Dobbin and Mubama. Utterly crazy. | |
