Surely good Socialists wouldn't do a thing like that?
Get the candles ready... on 10:04 - Dec 5 with 1200 views | Sadoldgit | After months of dodgy dealings by the Tories when we haven’t heard a peep from their supporters about their behaviour, now suddenly they find something to get outraged about? Good to see they have a moral compass after all but perhaps use it all the time and not just turn a blind eye when it suits eh? The good news is that after being 20 points behind in the polls Labour are now just ahead. Still a long way to go of course but the lies about the oven ready Brexit deal and the hash he has made of Covid so far hopefully have done for Boris and chums.

To be fair, everyone on all sides "turns a blind eye when it suits". Some on here slammed "Boris the clown" for not following the science to have a circuit breaker, but no acknowledgement that he was right to do so. The circuit breaker hasn't worked in Wales, so Boris was right. Sometimes he is right, sometimes he is wrong. This would be the same for any political leader, unless they are a genius and cycic. As for Brexit, traditional Labour voters also helped with the Brexit result. You write it as if, it's only a certain breed who wanted it. There were votes for brexit across all communitees for very valid reasons. The people voted for it, Boris is trying to deliver it, as difficult as it is. Can we not just agree that whichever party an MP belongs to, they are all capable of getting up to no good? It's like point scoring on here as to which member does wrong next, from both sides. Get the candles ready... on 10:58 - Dec 5 with 1180 views | Sadoldgit | My issue about Brexit is the humongous lie Johnson told about the deal being “oven ready” and has nothing to do with political alignment. I agree completely that there are people on all sides of the political divide who bend or break the rules and they should all be treated the same.

I think most people knew that there probably wasn't an "oven ready" deal. People decided that they just wanted this done one way or another. And yes, Boris lies, they all do. The whole house on all sides voted 98 per cent to have the original referendum, promising to enact the result. Theresa May got a reasonable deal, and on all sides it was voted down, even when they promised to deliver the result. The weapons of mass destruction, the cover ups - they all lie don't they. Ironically, that is another reason for the brexit result.

Get the candles ready... on 12:50 - Dec 5 with 1109 views | Bazza | Heard a politician say yesterday Boris did have a oven ready deal but the EU decided not to accept it and that is why we are where we are. Mm, one side's lies are the other side's truths. When has any government stuck completely to their manifesto promises? The French are certainly a class act when it comes to throwing a spanner in the (UK) works, from De Gaulle onwards.

Surely a deal is something that has been agreed by both sides? What he may have had was a set of proposals that suited him but he clearly did not have a deal.

It seems the Labour (thought I'd throw a political party in as that is what seems to be in vogue on political threads) Liverpool mayor may have turned a blind eye to morality for someone in his position. Love the witness intimidation bit as well - not looking good for the reds on this one https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-55192798 Double whammy on this one as he's also a Scouser so we can all have a political and anti-Scouse rant on this one

Not to take a political position, but there was/is an oven ready deal, the Canada one. It is just that the EU won't replicate it for the UK, and want to impose their own rules and regulations on the UK, which is mainly why people voted to leave in the first place. I voted to remain by the way.
