What's everyone's favourite Boxing Day Game ? I have to admit up to 1987 I had never seen Saints on Boxing Day, I had seen Liverpool & Everton on a regular basis, but didn't spend an Xmas in Southampton till 87.
One Boxing Day, Liverpool were away, Everton had a game against someone not very exciting, so I went to Wigan (their old ground) to see a local derby against Bolton with a morning kick off, then drove to Bury to see another derby, this time against Rochdale.

Can't really remember a decent Boxing Day performance from Saints. The only times of I've seen them they played as though they were still stuffed with port wine and Christmas pudding.

Last year against Chelsea was probably the best!
We seem to get Chelsea or Spurs a lot on Boxing Day
Remember a good home win v Spurs on Boxing Day with Colin Clarke and Kevin Moore scoring at the Dell 87-88 season which was ruined a week or 2 later when we lost at home to the skates
I remember Chelsea away. Going in a transit van with a bunch of mates, freezing our collective bollocks off on that open away terrace, the vague threat of violence from the locals but being pleased with a dull draw. Quite a good way to cure a hangover as it turns out....
