That penalty he won was because he pushed his leg out into Redmonds run, it was an unnatural movement and easy for VAR to see

I thought that as well, it was checked on two fronts, firstly that Forster had his foot on the line and secondly that there was no encroachment, strange one that supports my theories that Refs see VAR as a threat and are working to rule on it and instead of using it as intended use it to prove every little incident right or wrong | |

They were doing their upmost not to give the save !!
They took so long because they were checking to the millimetre that FF still had a foot on the line and when that was ok, they thought how else can we get Palace to retake it ? Oh yes - encroachment. Further checks and then we see that the Palace player was first in the box anyway, so with much reluctance, they had to give the save !!
I've never seen the same level of scrutiny after any other penalty save. |  |
