We live in hope. The problem we have is trying to rebuild on a shoestring. It was tough enough before, but strengthening this squad with no new investment is not going to be easy. Moyes would struggle here. Most managers would struggle here. If West Ham lose Rice and a few others and don’t get their summer recruitment right, they could end up fighting relegation again. We have seen many teams struggle with the extra demands of European football on Thursday nights. Man City had a poor start to the season. Liverpool had a big mid season dip. Arsenal had a poor season. Spurs had a poor season. Leicester choked at the end in the league. Fat Sam finally busted the myth that he was Ted Adair and is no longer the worlds best fire fighter. It gets tougher and tougher just to stand still.
Semmens hinted that there would be news about new investment soon. Let’s hope that is the case and that we have a good summer in the transfer market. Without that it doesn’t matter if our manager is Ralph, Moyes or Sir Alex Ferguson, we will struggle next season. |  | | |
